I started my blog, albuswhite as a way to explain off my love of cooking and share my recipes with my friends and family back home in Minnesota. I never thought I’d make it a full-fledged career, but now I’m living my dream.
I’m a self-taught chef and food writer. I grew up in a small town outside of Rochester, MN, where we were lucky enough to have a great farmers market right down the street. We lived next door to a bakery, so fresh bread and pastries were always around. My mom made amazing homemade pasta sauce, too.

I love to cook and bake. I love to experiment with flavors and ingredients. I love to try new foods and learn about new cultures. I love to create delicious meals and desserts that are fun and easy to prepare.

In addition to being a blogger, I’m also a freelance writer and editor. I write articles for magazines, websites, and newspapers, and I edit manuscripts for authors and businesses. I love to travel, and I try to take advantage of any opportunity to explore new cities or countries. I love to eat, drink, and laugh, and I hope to inspire readers to do the same.

When I moved away from home, I worked in restaurants and catering kitchens before becoming a line cook at a fine dining restaurant in St. Paul. I learned a lot there, but I wanted to try something new. So I decided to start my own business, selling my handmade jams and jellies online.

I never thought I’d make it a full-fledged career, but now I’m so glad I did. It has taken me to some amazing places, including culinary schools, restaurants, and wineries, and I’ve met some incredible people along the way.

Now I’m working on my first cookbook, which will feature 100+ recipes that reflect my style of cooking. I hope you’ll check it out!
